ROUND 3: NASCAR WHELEN ALL-AMERICAN SERIES

AT IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY ... FOUR + TWO = WOW!

Guaranteed Saturday Night Entertainment: May 4, 2013

Irwindale, Calif. April 30, 2013 - - Even at the NASCAR track that's known across the country as the race track that always gives its fans more racing for their money ... this one is a big one!

Four (count 'em) four full-flavored servings of NASCAR Championship short track racing aided and abetted by two added attractions just to spice up the Saturday, May 4 offering at Irwindale Speedway.

"We try to really pack a great night of family-friendly motorsports entertainment into ever show that we do, and this is a prime example," track VP/COO Bob Klein explained. "We're very proud of the fact that so many fans and racers are finding their way back to Irwindale. Our goal is to always put on a show that will thrill and entertain. The teams are helping us do that, and the fans are telling us they're pleased that we're back with their ticket purchases."

A full card headlined by the exciting Lucas Oil Late Models, Irwindale will send the Super Stocks, the Pick Your Part South West Tour Trucks, and the Mini-Stocks into battle on the first Saturday night in the month of May.

Adding to the night's competition collage are the always exciting Pick Your Part Figure Eight racers and an evening-ending Trailer Race.

Most fans know about Figure Eight racing: a criss-cross course that asks racers to head though a high-speed intersection every lap that's designed for near-misses and plenty of breath-holding on the part of the fans in the stands ... you know, serious stuff.

Trailer Racing, on other hand, always seems to get out of hand (in a wide range of funny ways) very quickly ... the idea here is to attach some sort of ersatz "trailer" to your race car which the other drivers then try to knock off your race care before you knock theirs off of their car. Sounds a little messy? Right ...That's why we always leave that show until last, picking up the debris takes a bit of time. Besides, it's a fun way to end the night with a bang.

Discount tickets are available right now at the Speedway's website (www.irwindaleeventcenter.com). Fan gates open at 4pm, the very popular On-Track Autograph Session (every racecar, all the drivers, autographs, photos, up-close and personal fun) goes at 5:45pm and the races start at 7:00pm.

Remember, fans are GUARANTEED a great time at Irwindale Speedway. If, after the first race, any fan is not 100% satisfied with the show, all they need to do is bring their ticket back to the ticket window and they'll get a full refund of their money!
