The newly named Irwindale Speedway FAN ZONE!
A NEW NAME FOR A FUN PLACE
AT IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY
Irwindale, Calif. - - "We've really always had a "Fan Zone" here ... we just never called it that." That was how Irwindale Event Center's President/CEO Jim Cohan talked about the recent re-naming of the special area of Irwindale Speedway that's located between the grandstands and the NASCAR pits.
That area WAS called the "Chalet Village" a name that never really made sense, and that no one can honestly remember why it was chosen back in 1999 when Irwindale opened.
The "new" name is far more descriptive of what goes on in that special area that's been dedicate to the total fan experience since Irwindale opened.
Irwindale's Fan Zone is the place where all sorts of fan-active displays and attractions take place every NASCAR night at the Speedway. Whether it's a great mini-car show, a musical act, a manufacturer's midway, or any one of a hundred other special exhibits ... Early-arriving Irwindale guests will always find a fun time there before the races (Gates open early at Irwindale, 4pm for a 7pm first race).
For example, this Saturday night, our friends at Toyota are bringing Kyle Busch's #18 M&M's Sprint Cup race car out for the fans to get a close-up and personal look at. Toyota representatives will be there taking photos of the fans posing next to the colorful machine and printing them out right on the spot in the "Irwindale Fan Zone".
There'll also be another great mini-car show in the "zone" on Saturday, this one featuring real Mini's. The Mini-Cooper Car Club will be the special guests of the track on Saturday and they'll all be there to show off some of the very coolest and most tricked-out Minis from all over SoCal.
Every Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway is always an adventure for the family. Fun attractions (like the above) in the Irwindale Fan Zone, the famous On-Track Autograph Session, and lap after lap of action-packed professional NASCAR racing all at family-friendly prices.
