Nick Joanides led all 100 laps of the July 4th Auto Club Late Model Firecracker 100 race winning his second division race of the season in front of a capacity crowd at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Rookie Ryan Kaplan of Noblesville, Ind. started 8th and finished in second place. Andrew Myers of Huntington Beach finished third maintaining his division points lead. Jace Meier who finished second in the 2007 Auto Club Late Model division standings and winning the rookie of the year honors, competed in his first race of the season finishing in 4th place. Twenty-eight cars competed in the race.
